THE EXHIBITIONS
discovering the work of a singular life...
A cosmography and a network of very personal symbols are offered throughout Françoise Cauvin-
Monet's work. Faces or bird heads, an eye, an animal, a peacock's tail, flowers, a flutter of wings,
are elegantly arranged and entangled within lines or geometric figures, and colors are perfectly used
to strike and enchant us. All these signs, codes refer to an unreal, magical, and endless world.
Leon Monet's granddaughter's work was unveiled through three exhibitions that took place in 2023.
The first, at the Musée du Luxembourg, covered the whole world of a family of artists and
outstanding personalities.,

Two other gallery exhibitions took place simultaneously to enable the public to understand which
artistic movements characterized the work of Françoise Cauvin-Monet. Despite being a descendant
of Claude Monet, she lived at a very different time, in a different century, and her life was utterly
different from that of her forebear.
One of these exhibitions was held in Paris, , It took place last May, in the 6th arrondissement, a well-known
district for art collectors. An anthology of Françoise Cauvin Monet's work was exhibited in the
gallery, with a particular emphasis on her animal sketches, which have always been a major source
of inspiration and a series of abstractions where color is given a major role.
from May 11 to 21, 2023 (exhibition closed).
The other exhibition , was held in Rouen, the stronghold of
the Monet family. Some fifty works were exhibited, and some of them had never been shown to the
public before.
from June 15 to July 15, 2023 (exhibition closed).
