Art is often taken seriously, which is quite surprising since artists have been laughing and making others laugh for centuries. They have been playing with their spectators for ages, hiding mockery in
their works. Françoise Cauvin-Monet uses all forms of humor in her work : dark, ironic, or just
funny or sarcastic, sometimes desperate or the opposite, light as a feather, only to make us smile. It
hides within an abstraction, a facial expression, or in the attitude of one of her characters. Pain
